Workshop/Classes – Kundalini Yoga guided by Sara Campbell
We are at Copenhagen Yoga proud to welcome Sara Campbell, world champion freediver and yoga teacher, who will guide you through inspiring workshops and classes over 4 days on awareness of mind, body and breathe.
WORKSHOP/CLASSES
Time and date will be announced later
1) What is Kundalini Yoga; the yoga of latent spiritual awareness
An introduction to Kundalini Yoga, what it is and what, in Sara’s experience, makes it such a powerful form of transformation. Sara will give a thorough grounding of warm-up exercises, including pranayama exercises, followed by a simple yet fundamentally important kriya, and a meditation.
2) Kundalini Yoga and the breath; a freediver’s story
‘I’m no body, I’m no mind, I’m no spirit, I’m just the breath of life, the breath of life, the breath of God’ – Yogi Bhajan. We all need to breathe to stay alive, it is our most vital source of energy. For most of us, most of the time, breath is an unconscious action, yet it holds the power to healing, health and super-vitality. Sara has taken pranayama (breathing exercises) to the extreme, holding her breath for over four minutes during her deepest dives and resurfacing as if she’s just stepped out of the shower! How is she able to achieve such immense feats, what secrets lie within pranayama that may enable us to unlock our own hidden potential?
3) Kundalini Yoga and the mind; unlock the freedom and potential that is already within
In yoga we have ten bodies, three of which are the Minds; positive, negative and neutral. How aware of these three facets of the mind, in which mind do we mostly reside, and where does our power lie, with the mind or with the spirit? Who is controlling your destiny? Modern science and medicine are beginning to understand the power of the mind to heal and even change the body, and Sara has demonstrated the incredible power of the mind to enable her to achieve the ‘impossible’. If you don’t know your mind, someone else is driving your car. This workshop will put you back in the driving seat! All classes are suitable for all levels of yoga experience, as well as all fitness (and flexibility!) levels.

About Sara
Sara has been teaching Kundalini Yoga for over seven years, qualifying in the UK with SKY, the School of Kundalini Yoga (http://www.skyoga.co.uk/) in 2004. Since then she has been living and working Dahab on Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula, which is where she first discovered freediving in 2006. She excelled at the sport, going from complete beginner to three-times World Record holder in just nine months and attributes a large part of her success to her yoga and meditation practice.
Since her initial world titles, Sara has faced profound challenge in her personal life with, among other things, the death of her mother in 2008. Sara’s yoga practice, and in particular the potential of Kundalini to connect the individual with the Self, has enabled her to recover her deep sense of self-belief and trust. The ultimate proof of the power of her practice was in her to return to the water in September last year when she finally broke the 100m mark in a spectacularly easy dive to 104m – on one breath. In June 2011 Sara began the next stage of her personal journey and development with the Amritnam Sarovar (www.amritnam.com) school in France, where she is completing, over the next two years, her level 2 instructor training.
So far she has completed ‘Conscious Communication’ and ‘Authentic Relationships’ and will be coming to us fresh from her ‘Advanced Meditation’ retreat on 26th March to share the teachings, her story and her love of Kundalini Yoga with us all.
